Stefano Denswil hoping for Chelsea move
Club Brugge central defender Stefano Denswil has revealed that he is dreaming of a future move to Chelsea to further his career.
Having come through the fabled Ajax academy, Denswil is capped seven times at U21 international level but failed to break into the first-team with the Eredivisie outfit before moving to the Belgian Pro League in January 2015 on a free transfer.
The 24-year-old did come close to moving to the Premier League in the summer but a move to promoted side Brighton failed to materialize with Club Brugge being not wanting to sell the player at that stage.
Able to play both centre-back and left-back, Denswil has four goals in 24 appearances so far this season and at 24, his best years are still ahead of him and it’s still possible for him to reach the very top level.
As quoted by Football Oranje, Denswil confirms his dream to one day complete a transfer to Chelsea, although the Blues aren’t believed to be interested in signing him at this moment.
Everyone has a dream club and I also have: Chelsea, it would be nice if I could ever play there, as a defender you really learn to defend there.
Chelsea are eager to add to their defensive ranks in January, with Tottenham’s Danny Rose and Juventus’ Alex Sandro both on their radar, but they could face competition from Manchester United for both fullbacks.
