Premier League champions Chelsea have appointed Guy Laurence as the new Chief Executive of the club, who will start the role in February, according to the official club website.
Laurence will be required to report directly to the club’s Board of Directors and will be in charge of the day-to-day operations of the club.

One of his main responsibilities will be to ensure that the Blues continue to develop their commercial connections around the globe and will need to aim to boost the revenues of the London club.
Laurence has experience of running a big company, as he was the President of one of Canada’s largest communications and media businesses.
Laurence has been involved with sport before, as he was the director of one of North America’s best sports companies.
Another major role that Laurence will have is to increase the fanbase of Chelsea and Chairman Bruce Buck is confident that he will succeed in the role.
We look forward to Guy joining the club during an exciting period for Chelsea on and off the field. He will be working with the owner and the Board to increase our commercial revenues and maximise digital opportunities, identifying new ways to best serve our supporters here in the UK and further grow our international fan base.
