Ross Barkley could make his Chelsea debut against Norwich when the two sides meet in their FA Cup replay.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Antonio Conte confirmed that the Premier League champions must avoid rushing the former Everton man after such a long time on the sidelines.

Chelsea are due to meet Norwich at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night after the goalless draw at Carrow Road.

The winners of that tie will meet Newcastle at home in the next round.

It is yet to be seen what role Barkley will play at Chelsea and where Conte wants to implement him into his squad.

Barkley could be a welcomed addition for Conte, who has struggled to find the right balance in midfield so far this season.

Summer signing Tiemoue Bakayoko has failed to find any form of consistency as the Blues switch between a four-man and five-man midfield.
