Chelsea are reportedly still keeping tabs on Gremio midfielder Arthur.
The Brazilian has long been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge and it seems the Blues are still keeping track of his progress, according to a report from the Daily Mail.
Gremio hold Arthur in high regard and are keen to retain his services for the foreseeable future. However, with the player having a £45m buyout clause in his contract, the Daily Mail claims, they could be forced into parting company with Arthur if a potential suitors activates this clause.
Arthur has been most strongly linked with a move to Barcelona and was even pictured holding the La Liga leader’s shirt recently having met the club’s sporting director Robert Fernandez.
Although, it seems no deal has been struck yet, which has led to Chelsea’s interest seemingly being firmed up.
Despite Gremio being keen to keep hold of the 21-year-old, they acknowledge that a sizable fee could be too good to turn down for Arthur. The report claims that a sum in the region of £35 million could be enough to sway their decision.
Manchester United are also being linked with a move for the impressive young midfielder, who continues to show signs of quality in his homeland.
