Chelsea target Stefan de Vrij will leave Lazio this summer
Chelsea target Stefan de Vrij will not be renewing his contract at Lazio and as such, he will depart the club in the summer.
The Netherlands international has long been linked with a mvoe to Stamford Bridge and it seems like the Blues will have a strong chance of landing him this summer, with Lazio’s sporting director Igli Tare confirming De Vrij will depart the club.

After Liverpool signed Virgil van Dijk, a compatriot of De Vrij, in January to remedy their defensive issues, Chelsea continued their search for a new defender as they missed out on the former Southampton man. De Vrij’s name was one that kept popping up and Chelsea will now be in the race to sign him on a free transfer.
De Vrij has been a key player in Simone Inzaghi’s side this season and has impressed over the course of the last few campaigns. He has established himself as one of the best defenders in Serie A and will undoubtedly attract plenty of interest in the upcoming transfer window.
Chelsea will face competition if they are to move for De Vrij, though. Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City, Juventus and a whole host of other clubs are also said to be interested in speaking to the Dutchman.
