Chelsea target Leon Bailey speaks out on his future
Chelsea are among the host of top European clubs looking to sign Leon Bailey from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer but it appears as if the 20-year-old is settled where he is for the time being.
Bailey has netted 11 goals and provided five assists in 23 appearances across all competitions so far this season and has been linked with the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal in recent months.
The former Genk standout was widely touted to be leaving Leverkusen for bigger and better things but that might not be the case as Bailey insists that he is eager to continue his development at Leverkusen going forward as opposed to pushing hard for a move in the summer.
Leverkusen is perfect for me. I want to develop and then I can take the next step. When I move to a big club, the people there will want to know me. I want to make a name for myself at the highest level.
Bailey isn’t the only young Bundesliga forward Chelsea are said to be interested in as they weigh up a summer move for Borussia Dortmund standout Christian Pulisic.
The USMNT star is also wanted by Bayern Munich, Manchester United and Liverpool ahead of next season.
