Conte will not be worrying about his job says ex-England star
BT Sport pundit and former Manchester United and England defender, Rio Ferdinand has said that Antonio Conte will not be worrying about his job security, as per The Daily Star.
This is due to the amount of tough games that the Blues face, with their next six games featuring two trip up north to face both Manchester teams, a return leg in Barcelona, and a home match against Tottenham, as well as a London derby against Crystal Palace and an FA Cup quarter-final away at the King Power Stadium.
But despite being in the Champions League, FA Cup and still in the race for Champions League football, Conte has come under some serious pressure.
This was due to losing heavily to AFC Bournemouth and Watford. But the Italian manager looks to be getting things back together, with convincing wins against West Brom and Hull before drawing against Barcelona.
Rio Ferdinand said about it all (via The Daily Star):
That’s just the world we are living in now. One result can spin from a confident bunch, positive reports in the media to being dramatically negative.
I’m sure Conte expects, if there is a defeat to be pressure mounting and I think he’s honest enough to accept that challenge.
So with a lot of tough fixtures coming up, Conte may be under serious pressure if Chelsea don’t perform in these games, but with things turning around from those humiliating defeats, it may be more positive than expected at Stamford Bridge.
