Ramires talks up move back to Chelsea

Former Chelsea midfielder Ramires has talked up the chances of him one day returning to Stamford Bridge.

Speaking to UOL, as reported by AS, the Brazilian midfielder described the club as his ‘second home’.

They’re the team I will always have a special affection for and where I still have the desire to play before finishing my career, I was recently treating an injury I had at the club and I can say that, without a doubt, it’s like my second home there.

I know the doors at Stamford Bridge will always be open for me and going back to wear the shirt of that club one day would be amazing.

The Brazilian left Chelsea back in 2016, joining Chinese Super League side Jiangsu Suning after falling out of favour under Guus Hiddink during his brief stint in charge of the club.

Ramires was a popular figure among both the fans and players at the club, where he will largely be remembered for the brilliant goal he scored against Barcelona in the 2012 Champions League campaign.

The midfielder joined the club in 2010 from Benfica and went on to make close to 250 appearances for the club.

The 30-year-old was reportedly close to joining Inter during the January transfer window, however, a deal did not materialise.

Inter are owned by the Suning Group, who also run the Chinese Super League outfit.
