Chelsea target Alex Sandro likely to leave Juventus
Chelsea have been long-term admirers of Juventus star Alex Sandro and they may have received a boost in their pursuit of the Brazilian ahead of the summer transfer window.
According to Italian source Tuttosport, as outlined by Sport Witness, Juventus aren’t as firm on their stance that Sandro is not for sale at any price as they were last summer and in January.
The Brazilian’s form has peaked and troughed this season in Turin and perhaps reported interest from Chelsea and Manchester United has contributed towards that, but Juventus are now understood to be ready to part ways with the left-back should they receive a tempting enough offer.
Tuttosport claim that Chelsea lodged a substantial €70m bid to sign Sandro, which was knocked back by Juventus, but if these claims suggest anything it’s that a similar bid in the summer could be enough to get a deal done.
Chelsea signed Emerson Palmieri from Roma in January but he hasn’t exactly hit the ground running, while current left-back Marcos Alonso is being linked with the likes of Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid. If they’re determined to finally sign Sandro, it’s likely that either Emerson or Alonso will be sold.
