Chelsea are monitoring the contract situation of Toby Alderweireld at Tottenham, and as Darren Lewis of the Mirror reports, they’re ready to swoop for him in the summer if he does become available.
Alderweireld’s future at Tottenham looks very uncertain as he’s yet to put pen to paper on a new deal. He has two years remaining on his current contract but Spurs, due to their tight wage budget, are not willing to meet his pay demands.

The Belgian wants to be paid around £150,000-a-week, an amount close to what Liverpool are paying Virgil van Dijk, but as it stands, Spurs are not willing to pay such a large salary.
If the team and the player remain at an impasse, then Alderweireld will be sold as Spurs won’t want to lose him for free.
In such an event, Chelsea will be willing to splash the cash to get him to massively improve their defensive options.
