The Spaniard’s Chelsea career started in fine fashion, but he has not found the back of the net in the Premier League since Boxing Day, with just 10 goals to his name this season.
He recently scored his first goal of 2018 against Leicester City in the Carabao Cup.
Karim Benzema is being linked with a move away from Madrid this season, with Robert Lewandowski lined up as his first-choice replacement, but Bayern are desperate to keep hold of the Polish striker.
Morata could be seen as a cheaper alternative if Benzema was to stay at the club beyond the summer.
