Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has admitted that the speculation over Thibaut Courtois’ future is a problem for the player and the club.
Speaking ahead of his side’s clash with Southampton at St. Mary’s on Saturday in the Premier League.
There have been rumours throughout the season of Courtois’ potential exit from the club in the summer.
He has been linked to Real Madrid and PSG, with Courtois reportedly tempted by a move to the latter.
Courtois’ contract with Chelsea expires at the end of next season, with no progress over talks for a new deal with the club.
As quoted by Metro, Conte said this:
My answer is always the same. We are talking about a really good goalkeeper.
This is a problem to solve between the club and Thibaut.
The Belgian international is set to go to Russia for the World Cup with his country this summer, where he could put himself in the shop window if he impresses.
