Chelsea are looking to reach their 14th FA Cup final on Sunday, with a semi-final clash against Southampton at Wembley.
The Blues have suffered an underwhelming season thus far. They currently sit fifth in the Premier League table and were knocked out of the Champions League last 16 by Barcelona.
This is not what Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich or Blues fans would have expected following their title winning campaign last term.
It is becoming increasingly apparent that Antonio Conte will not be at the Bridge next season, so the Italian will be eager to finish his time in West London with FA Cup success.
Their opponents, Southampton, look destined for the drop as they sit 18th in the table, four points from safety having played a game more than 17th placed Swansea.
Boss Antonio Conte will see this as a good opportunity to reach a major final and go one better than he did last season by winning the Cup.
We’ve taken a look at some of the key battles which could decide who wins this cup semi-final…
Eden Hazard vs Jan Bednarek
Bednarek scored in Chelsea’s 3-2 victory over Southampton but couldn’t stop Hazard from scoring his 12th goal of the season. The young defender will likely be drafted back into the team on the right of defence, as Jack Stephens was shown a red card late on against Arsenal. With Hazard playing on the left and Saints wing-back Cedric Soares partial to bombing forward, there could be space for the Belgian to run at inexperienced Bednarek.
Victor Moses vs Ryan Bertrand
The two wing-backs will provide the majority of the width for their respected sides. Former Chelsea man Bertrand has provided four assists this season and can be dangerous when crossing from wide areas. With Marcos Alonso out of this game, there will be added pressure on Moses to provide width and get crosses into the box. Both men will have to make sure they track each other’s runs.
Ngolo Kante vs Oriol Romeu
Two ball winners in this clash. Whichever midfielder can stamp their authority on this semi final could well win the game for their side. Kante has got the engine to run all day but Romeu has physical strength and ability to read the game. The Spanish enforcer will be eager to impress against his former club.
Cesc Fabregas vs James Ward-Prowse
The two ball players with goals from midfield. Fabregas has renowned ability to pick a pass and dictate a game, however, Ward-Prowse has great ability on the ball and can cut defences open himself.
On their day, both midfielders can be match winners and will be looking to make the front pages in this cup semi final.
The Saints man is also particularly dangerous from set pieces so the Blues will have to be careful to avoid giving away cheap free-kicks.
