Thibaut Courtois suing ex-Belgium boss over ‘mole’ claims

Thibaut Courtois is trying to take the former Belgium boss Marc Wilmots to court after claims he was a dressing room ‘mole’ during Euro 2016, reports the Mirror.

Wilmots accused the Chelsea goalkeeper and his father of selling team news to the French press during the tournament two years ago.

The 25-year-old did not take to the comments well, and has confirmed that both he and his father Thierry will take legal proceedings against the ex-Red Devils boss.

Courtois took to Twitter to confirm he would be doing this:

Following the statements made by Mr Wilmots, my father and I have decided to bring a criminal complaint together.

It is well documented that the two do not like each other following a number of spats, including the Chelsea ‘keeper slating the tactics used by the manager in the tournament.

When talking to French BeIN Sports, Wilmots has said that Courtois doesn’t respect his homeland:

I just have a problem when I make my selection at 6pm and at 6.15pm it is on all social networks. It means that you do not respect your homeland. I find it a shame, because I have to wait an hour before the match to have the opposition’s selection. And that’s terrible.
