# QPR (A) – Four Findings

Chelsea left it late to secure another three points, this time at Loftus Road vs. Queens Park Rangers. Cesc Fabregas slotted the ball home late into the game, which keeps Chelsea top of the Premier League table, and are 7 points above Arsenal.

**Eden Hazard is key to our big performances:**

Yet again, Eden Hazard proved influential today, grabbing the assist for Cesc Fabregas’ goal. His constant threat to the QPR defence was fantastic to watch. The little Belgian is proving to everyone why he was such a wanted man. Although he may not have been in the game as much as he would have liked, he was still causing problems. QPR’s defence were always going to be focusing on him, knowing he has a very quick change of pace, and can go past players with ease. Just because he isn’t on the ball, doesn’t mean he isn’t a problem. When he isn’t finding the ball on one wing, he’ll swap and this will give the full-backs something to think about. Having to track him can’t be the easiest thing, let alone mark and keep up with him when he has the ball at his feet. He’ll keep you on your toes, and he proved that today. As soon as Green made that mistake with his clearance, he was on it like a flash, despite being pulled back. We are deep into the game, his legs are still going, their defence was tired. He played a neat give-and-go with Oscar to find some space to then pull it back to Cesc, 1-0.

**Thibaut Courtois is again crucial in our win:**

Well, what can you say? Despite a few errors here and there, which are acceptable in his first season in England, there is no doubt Courtois is up there for goalkeeper of the year in the Premier League, if not the best. Yet again today, the big Belgian came up with a few sensational saves which were needed, at crucial times. Making himself big and making the attacker decide where he wants to put it, in little time. Charlie Austin and Matty Phillips both went close for the hosts, but Courtois was on hand to punch away both efforts. His distribution was again spot on. Finding Drogba at most opportunities. Without Courtois in between the sticks for us this season, how many goals would we have conceded? Who cares!

**John Terry keeping up his top performances:**

Another top, top performance from the club captain, John Terry. He would have known full well what type of reception he was going to get going into this game, with all the history between himself and the Ferdinand incident. However, everyone also knew that he wouldn’t let that affect his game, he’s a professional. QPR went with two strikers up-front. Zamora and Austin. In the air, as you would expect that ball was being put in towards Zamora. However, he was in a constant dual with Terry, who was fairly dominant. Constantly getting up and getting the ball away from Zamora in the air. Also, he was matching the forward on the grass, giving him barely any space and being there to intercept the ball when needed.

**A champion’s victory:**

These are the type of games that Champions go on and win. Chelsea only had 1 shot on target, and scored 1 goal. That’s all it took. QPR’s game plan was to make it difficult, and give the Blues no time to think or move the ball, and were rightfully showing no respect to the visitors. We didn’t control the game, and we looked far from our best, but that is what makes this victory that bit better. Reflect on it, remember last time out against QPR and we went down to 9 men and cost ourselves? Jose was adamant we weren’t letting it slip today, and we have gone an inch closer to calling ourselves Premier League champions. Carefree!
