# Bertrand Pays Tribute to Ashley Cole

Ryan Bertrand has paid tribute to his former team-mate Ashley Cole and says that he looked up to him as a role-model. Cole won numerous trophies for Chelsea and racked up over 200 appearances for the Blues. It could be said that whilst Cole was occupying the left back spot at Stamford Bridge, Bertrand was unable to break through but this did not stop him lavishing praise on the full back. Bertrand told the FA website:

*“I learned a lot from him. On the pitch and off the pitch, the way he went about his business was fantastic.*

*“We had a really good relationship on and off the field.”*

The England international also accumulated over 100 caps for his country.

*“As footballers, to learn off someone who has achieved so much in the game and has such a calm yet positive persona that Koeman does, it can only improve any player.*

*“The tips he gives here and there are invaluable and we are managing to put them into practice.”*
