# Fabregas is a pioneer of the Spanish game

Current Spanish team-mate and former Barcelona team-mate, Gerard Pique has labelled Cesc Fabregas as a ‘pioneer of the Spanish game’.

According to the [Daily Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3263909/Gerard-Pique-labels-Chelsea-s-Cesc-Fabregas-pioneer-Spanish-game-team-mate-David-Gea-shares-picture-Bayern-Munich-star-Thiago-Alcantara.html?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490), Pique claims his ability to leave Barcelona to move to Arsenal when he was just 16 years of age, makes him an example for many future footballers.

Since making his debut in 2006, Fabregas has collected 98 caps for his native Spain, with the 100 mark fast approaching. This could be the ideal distraction for Fabregas as he looks to rediscover his ‘magic touch’ from last season.

> Cesc was a pioneer in going to London at the age of 16, later the rest of us went and he was an example for many.

Pique went on to reveal that inside, Fabregas is a true winner and won’t have it any other way.

> He is a winner. We have known each other since we were very young and if Cesc doesn’t win he might not talk to you for the whole day or won’t answer your calls.

After enjoying such a fantastic debut season at Chelsea, this season has not started well for Chelsea and Fabregas in particular. Such praise from Pique is sure to give Fabregas a boost going into the international break, Chelsea may just benefit from that as a result too.
