# Chelsea leading the race Tielemans

According to [Goal](https://www.goal.com/en/news/11/transfer-zone/2015/10/13/16268342/man-utd-facing-competition-in-race-for-tielemans?ICID=HP_HN_1), Chelsea are in front of Manchester United in the race to sign young Belgium midfielder, Youri Tielemans.

Tielemans is one of the hottest properties in Europe and is very much in-demand, according to the report, discussions were held in London last week between the two clubs and representatives.

The midfielder is now well established within the Anderlecht side, despite being just 18-years young. He has been voted the best player in Belgium for the last two seasons in a row.

One factor that could play against Chelsea is their decisions to loan out young players. Tielemans is keen to play in the Premier League and it is unlikely he will want to wait for his chance.

Manchester United have scouted the midfielder thoroughly as they see him as a possible long-term replacement to English midfielder, Michael Carrick.

Tielemans has already scored three goals in seven appearances this season.
