# Chelsea astonished by Mourinho’s FA ban

Chelsea are astounded by the decision of the Football Association to put Jose Mourinho on a 12-month good behaviour bond in the form of a suspended stadium ban, according to [The Telegraph.](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/chelsea/11932010/Chelsea-manager-Jose-Mourinho-given-suspended-one-match-ban-for-post-match-comments.html)

Mourinho and the club fully expected an FA fine of £50,000 after he claimed referees are “afraid” to award decisions in favour of the Blues, following Chelsea’s 3-1 defeat to Southampton.

However, the additional one-match ban was greeted with anger at the club, whilst the decision to place the Chelsea boss on the good behaviour bond has astonished those associated with The Blues, who feel that the Portuguese coach gets harshly treated whilst other managers, (The Telegraph name Arsene Wenger as an example) receive no punishment.

The FA failed to punish Wenger after he labelled Mike Dean as “naive” and “weak” following Arsenal’s defeat to Chelsea in September, whilst also escaping any form of punishment for pushing Mourinho in the fracas during last season’s clash at Stamford Bridge.

And the Chelsea boss, who said he would have received punishment had it been he who pushed Wenger last year, has been left shocked following the FA’s decision to add the 12-month good behaviour bond in the form of a suspended stadium ban, in addition to the fine and one-match ban.

The good behaviour bond now means that should Mourinho breach another FA rule regarding comments made to or through the media before October 13th, 2016, the Chelsea boss would not be allowed to enter any stadium in which The Blues are playing for one game.

Former Newcastle boss Alan Pardew is the only Premier League manager to have been sanctioned with the stadium ban following his headbutt on David Meyler in March 2014.
