# Chelsea made favourites for Cavani

Chelsea are favourites to sign Edinson Cavani over the summer according to the [Daily Star](https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/471496/Transfer-News-Chelsea-Arsenal-Manchester-United-Edinson-Cavani-Odds-Signing-Gossip-Latest).

Cavani’s future at Paris Saint-Germain is looking bleak after he admitted he would be willing to return to Italy. Cavani has been forced to play out wide for most of his time with PSG due to Zlatan Ibrahimovich, he may get more of a chance through the middle at Chelsea.

Since moving to PSG from Napoli in 2013, Cavani has scored 40 goals and 75 appearances. Whilst Italy may be a likely destination if Cavani chooses to leave France, bookmakers Betway have received a mass amount of bets on Chelsea being the striker’s next destination.

Cavani is a familiar name for Chelsea fans, not only does he seemingly have a great game against the Blues every time they face the striker, he has also been linked with a move to Chelsea on several occasions.

Betway’s Alan Alger said this regarding the recent bets placed on Cavani to move to Chelsea:

> Reports have suggested that Edinson Cavani could be departing Paris and we think, if he does leave, Chelsea will be the first to try and secure his services. It’s unlikely that PSG will let him go in January, though, and we expect to still be trading this market in the summer.

> Only a small number of clubs can afford to trigger the Uruguayan’s £54m release clause and, although his intentions are to return to Napoli at some point, they probably haven’t got the wedge just yet.
