# Chelsea set to go unpunished after booing UEFA CL anthem

Chelsea are set to go unpunished by UEFA after fans booed the Champions League anthem prior to their clash with Dynamo Kyiv on Wednesday night.

According to [The Daily Mail,](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3305113/Manchester-City-left-perplexed-Chelsea-look-set-escape-UEFA-sanctions-despite-fans-booing-Champions-League-anthem.html) Chelsea will almost certainly avoid any form of punishment from UEFA as the incident involving the jeers from the crowd at Stamford Bridge were not included in the official report.

The news will come as another boost for Chelsea after a brilliant free-kick from Willian gave the Blues a 2-1 victory over Kyiv.

However, Manchester City and Barcelona may be left scratching their heads at the news, with both clubs recieveing sanctions from UEFA for the same offence.

City were charged less than 24 hours after their home victory over Sevilla last month when fans booed the anthem prior to kick-off; whilst Barca could face a third UEFA sanction should fans continue to jeer the anthem.

City could face further puishment from UEFA, after the travelling away fans were heard voicing their opinions once again during the Champions League anthem, prior to their 3-1 victory over Sevilla on Tuesday night.
