# Chelsea trio nominated for 2015 Golden Boy award

Three Chelsea players have been nominated for the 2015 Golden Boy award, according to [Fichajes.com](https://www.fichajes.com/otro-campeonato/desvelan-los-40-candidatos-al-titulo-de-golden-boy_95874).

Nathan Ake, currently on loan at Watford, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Mario Pasalic, currently on loan at AS Monaco have all been named in the 50 players nominated for the award.

The Golden Boy award started in 2003, some of the best under 21s from across Europe are judged by news outlets and journalists. Some of the contenders include Arsenal’s Hector Bellerin and Manchester United’s Anthony Martial.

In 2014, Raheem Sterling picked up the award after a fantastic season with Liverpool. In 2013, Paul Pogba picked up the award, Isco also won the award in 2012.

Nathan Ake has impressed on loan at Watford this season, he has started four games for the Hornets and come off the bench for another two.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek was tipped by Jose Mourinho to feature for the first-team this season, so far the 19-year-old has made just two starts and made one appearance from the bench.

Mario Pasalic is making strides in France and impressing in every game. Pasalic has become an important of Monaco’s midfield. He has made 11 appearances for the French side.
