# Midfielder comments long term future to Chelsea

Chelsea have received some welcome good news as [midfielder Ramires has said](https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/476071/Chelsea-News-Ramires-keen-to-stay-at-Stamford-Bridge) that he wants to commit his long-term future to the club.

The 28-year-old Brazilian international recently signed a contract extension which lasts up until 2019, but he’s said that he would like to say on at the London club past that date.

> Signing a new deal means I must be doing a good job. Hopefully, I will be able to stay here for a very long time.

> This is my home now. The memories here are the very best. I have had all the support I ever wanted or needed.

Ramires joined Chelsea from Benfica in 2010 for a fee of around €22 million, and he’s gone on to play over 200 games for the club. He’s won pretty much all there is to be won too. He has been part of squads that have won the Premier League, the FA Cup, the League Cup, the Europa League and the Champions League, so it’s fair to say that he’s more than proved his worth.

The midfielder has made 14 appearances in all competitions for The Blues this season and has managed to bag himself three goals.
