# Chelsea confident of landing Berahino in January

Chelsea are reportedly confident about the possibility of signing West Brom striker, Saido Berahino in January.

According to [ESPN](https://www.espnfc.com/chelsea/story/2724732/chelsea-confident-of-saido-berahino-january-move-sources), Chelsea will look for reinforcements in their attack come the January transfer window and the English striker is on their list.

London rivals Tottenham will provide stiff competition for the striker, after they failed with a lengthy pursuit of the striker during the summer.

The 22-year-old is in the final 18 months of his contract at West Brom and talks over a possible new deal have stalled, with Berahino looking to seek the next challenge in his career.

Tony Pulis will have to consider selling Berahino and cashing in on the player early, or the club face the risk of losing him for nothing when his contract expires.

Berahino has scored three goals this season, an equal amount to Diego Costa. At just 22 years of age, Berahino offers the possibility of developing a young player over a long-term period, as well as increasing the amount of home-grown players at Stamford Bridge.
