# Chelsea played like a small team says Pochettino

Mauricio Pochettino has claimed that he felt Chelsea played ‘like a small team’ during the London derby against Tottenham on Sunday.

According to the [Evening Standard](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/chelsea-felt-like-a-small-team-to-tottenham-says-spurs-boss-mauricio-pochettino-a3125671.html), Pochettino was pleased with his team’s performance against the Premier League champions, but admits, he wasn’t playing against a normal Chelsea side.

Mourinho started the game with no recognised striker and left it to Eden Hazard who started in the most attacking position to cause a threat to Spurs’ back four.

The game at White Hart Lane finished 0-0 and Chelsea were restricted to just one shot on goal throughout the whole match.

> We played the defending champions and it is good that you get the feeling that Chelsea was a small team and Tottenham feel they can win every game.

He added:

> I think we created enough chances to score. Chelsea only had one shot on target in the second half from \[Eden\] Hazard, so I think we deserved more.

A draw pushed Chelsea up to 14th in the Premier League table, with 15 points. Tottenham remain 5th in the league with 10 points more than the defending champions.

Chelsea are 12 points off Arsenal in 4th and closer to next weekend’s opponents, Bournemouth in 18th. Just five points separates the two sides.
