# Chelsea players should rethink their lifestyle says Mourinho

Jose Mourinho has told Chelsea players that they need to rethink their lifestyles as Chelsea players.

According to the [Independent](https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/jose-mourinho-orders-chelsea-players-to-rethink-their-lifestyles-off-the-pitch-in-open-admission-of-a6776411.html), Mourinho has told ChelseaTV that he believes some players could be doing more to save Chelsea’s season.

Chelsea are currently down to 16th in the Premier League table after losing 2-1 to Leicester City on Monday night.

The manager said:

> Some of them need to rethink the way they live Chelsea, the way they live football, they live their job. Chelsea is big, football is more than a job, it’s a passion. Every match on the pitch you should live with an unbelievable passion.

Since the game, various [reports](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3361571/Jose-Mourinho-s-sacking-cost-Chelsea-owner-Roman-Abramovich-40m-Russian-prepares-emergency-board-meeting.html) have come out suggesting that Mourinho could be on borrowed time as Chelsea manager, with the board considering his future.

As well as this, Mourinho said he felt [betrayed](https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/jose-mourinho-says-he-feels-betrayed-by-chelsea-team-and-that-top-four-ambitions-are-over-a6773436.html) by his players after the defeat to Leicester, the clearest signal so far that all is not well between the players and the manager.

He went on to say:

> How many millions would love to be football players and they can’t be? You shouldn’t waste any minutes on the pitch, you should enjoy every minute and you should give absolutely everything.

> Yes, I feel frustrated with some players and I feel that some others give absolutely everything and don’t deserve to lose.

Key players have underperformed this season and still found themselves on the teamsheet every week, leaving fans frustrated. Mourinho will be hoping for an improved performance and a show of heart against Sunderland on Saturday.
