# Chelsea to move for Leicester’s Mahrez?

Chelsea are eyeing a £20m move for Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez, according to *[The Evening Standard.](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/chelsea-set-to-make-20m-move-for-leicester-star-riyad-mahrez-sunday-s-top-transfer-stories-a3158471.html)*

The Algerian has set the Premier League alight this season, with his 13 goals and seven assists helping Leicester maintain their astonishing title challenge.

And following Chelsea’s 3-3 draw with Everton on Saturday, speculation linking the Foxes’ star with a move to Stamford Bridge has increased.

However, a move does seem incredibly unlikely, with the winger previously stating his intentions to stay at the King Power Stadium.

And given the contrasting fortunes of both clubs’ 2015/16 campaign, with Chelsea down in 14th whilst Leicester occupy the top spot in the Premier League, Mahrez could be forgiven for turning a potential move down.

The Blues, who have also been linked with [Shakhtar Donetsk star Alex Teixeira](https://readchelsea.com/2016/01/18/teixeira-happy-attract-chelsea-interest/) in the January transfer window, will be looking to continue their unbeaten run under interim boss Guus Hiddink this weekend when they travel to The Emirates to face an in-form Arsenal side.
