German side, Augsburg, are reportedly in talks with Chelsea to re-sign Abdul Baba Rahman on loan according to the [Express](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/636052/Chelsea-Abdul-Baba-Rahman-Augsburg-Loan-Transfer-News-21m).

The left-back [joined](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/33953803) Chelsea in the summer for an initial £14m, which could rise up to a possible £21m.

The two clubs are believed to have discussed a short-term loan deal to take the player back to the Bundesliga. Rahman recently [expressed](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/634227/Chelsea-Baba-Rahman-Guus-Hiddink-Stamford-Bridge) his discontent with the lack of game time at Stamford Bridge.

The defender has failed to get regular game time at Stamford Bridge, with both Branislav Ivanovic and Cesar Azpilicueta enjoyed a run of improved form in recent weeks.

He has made just nine appearances in all competitions this season. He is also yet to feature under the new manager, Guus Hiddink.

When he was at the club, Jose Mourinho [revealed](https://www.squawka.com/news/reports-baba-rahman-chelsea-deal-driven-by-emenalo/512915) that the signing was not his idea, which was always going to make his time at the club difficult.
