# Promotion chasers join the race for Bamford

Steve Bruce’s promotion chasing Hull City are reportedly keen on taking Patrick Bamford on loan for the remainder of the season.

According to the [Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/chelseas-patrick-bamford-wanted-loan-7235519?), Bruce is keen to add Bamford to his ranks in the hope of aiding the club’s promotion push as they look to return to the Premier League in their first attempt.

After beating Fulham on Saturday, Hull moved to the top of the Championship, above Brighton in second.

Bamford cut his loan at Crystal Palace short and has since returned to the club. He also recently scored a brace in a friendly for Chelsea against Queens Park Rangers.

Guus Hiddink is willing to let the striker out on loan again with the 22-year-old, not in the Dutchman’s plans.

Prior to his loan move to Palace, Bamford enjoyed a very successful spell in the Championship for Middlesbrough. The striker scored 17 goals for Aitor Karanka’s side as he helped them reach the play-off final, only to lose to Norwich at Wembley.
