BBC pundit, Martin Keown has praised Baba Rahman for his performance against Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday evening.
Speaking in his column for the Daily Mail, the former Arsenal defender questioned why the defender does not feature more prominently for the Premier League champions.
I was also impressed by Baba Rahman at left back. He arrived for big money in the summer but obviously Jose Mourinho had no confidence in him. His performance on Tuesday begged the question – why has he not played regularly this season? And with Cesar Azpilicueta looking much better at right back, I think the back four looked more solid.
After arriving from Augsburg, Baba Rahman has struggled to adapt to the Premier League. The defender failed to make an impact under Jose Mourinho and his game time was limited.
Under Hiddink, it has been much of the same for Rahman, but following the injury to John Terry, Rahman came on at left-back against Newcastle and started against the French champions, as well as starting against MK Dons in the FA Cup.
If the Ghanian defender continues to make an impression on Hiddink and pundits alike, he may well seal a future at the club, following his slow start to life at Chelsea, he has been linked with a swift exit.
