# Begovic looking forward to playing under Antonio Conte

Asmir Begovic has spoken out about his last twelve months at Chelsea and the recently announced appointment of Antonio Conte.

It was announced on Monday that the Italian will take over at Stamford Bridge after managing Italy in the European Championships and Begovic admitted that the last year at the club has been a strange one.

Speaking on the [All American Sports Show on talkSPORT 2](https://talksport.com/all-american-sports-show-podcast), the Bosnian admitted that his first season at the club had not been as he expected.

He said:

> It’s been a very eventful 12 months to say the least!

When asked about the future and the prospect of working under Conte, the 28-year-old admitted that the club did well to bring in another highly regarded manager to replace Jose Mourinho and said he is looking forward to working with him.

> It’s a big announcement for the club to bring in a manager of this calibre and I’m looking forward to working with him.

Conte will take over at Chelsea this summer and will be tasked with getting the club competing at the top of the Premier League once again.
