# Chelsea eye move for Fraser Forster

Chelsea are reportedly eyeing up a move for Southampton goalkeeper Fraser Forster this summer, as speculation over Thibaut Courtois’ future at the club continues to grow.

The Belgian shot-stopper has come under fire after a number of inconsistent performances this season, with *[The Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/chelsea-line-up-fraser-forster-7782128)* reporting that Forster is being lined up as a potential replacement for the Blues’ current number one.

The Southampton keeper has been in fine form following his return from injury and, despite a mistake in the defeat against Chelsea, is being closely monitored by those at the club.

Courtois, who saw red during Saturday’s humiliating 3-0 defeat to Manchester City after bringing down Fernandinho in the area, has now been linked with Real Madrid, and could be allowed to leave by new Chelsea boss Antonio Conte.

So just how do the two keeper’s compare in the Premier League this season? All statistics are taken from [Squawka](https://www.squawka.com/).

Despite only playing 14 league games this season due to injury, Forster has kept six clean sheets compared to Courtois’ five in the 21 appearances the Belgian has made.

The Southampton keeper also makes more saves per game than Courtois and has only conceded 11 goals. The Chelsea shot-stopper does have a better accuracy when distributing the ball from goal-kicks however, and also appears to command his area more than Forster, making 16 punches this season.
