# Chelsea boss cleared of match fixing allegations

Incoming Chelsea manager Antonio Conte, who will take over at Stamford Bridge this summer, has been cleared of match-fixing allegations, as per a report from the [BBC](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36303767).

The 46-year-old was accused of doing nothing to either prevent or report a match-fixing scandal whilst in charge of Italian side Siena back in 2011.

The next year, when he was the manager of Juventus, he was banned for ten months after failing to report two suspected cases of match-fixing during Siena games. That was later reduced to four months, but Conte has still been fighting the charges.

A judge in Cremona has acquitted Conte as he believes that the accusations were baseless.

Conte was named Italy manager in 2014 and he’ll lead the national side in this summer’s European Championships before he takes over at Chelsea, and the news that he has been cleared should be a weight off his shoulders as he begins preparations for the tournament.
