# Striker makes Chelsea his first-choice destination

Everton striker Romelu Lukaku has made Chelsea his number one destination as he seeks a move away from Goodison Park this summer, according to a report by Simon Rice of the [Independent](https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/transfers/romelu-lukaku-to-chelsea-everton-striker-likes-trophy-winning-mindset-at-former-club-a7051411.html).

The former Chelsea man left Stamford Bridge on a permanent deal in 2014 after loan spells with West Brom and Everton. The Toffees paid £28million for the Belgian striker, but will be looking to double that fee if he does indeed leave this summer.

Despite the lack of Champions League or Europa League football on offer at Chelsea next season, Lukaku says he wants to start winning medals and the trophy-winning mentality at Stamford Bridge appeals to him.

He said:

> I’m at a point where I have to make a good career choice. I have had a very good season, but it is time for me to write myself a CV. That is why I play football. I got that trophy-winning mindset from Chelsea.

Everton are looking to rebuild after a disappointing season. They have had new investment pumped in by Farhad Moshiri and are seeking a new manager after sacking Roberto Martinez.

Lukaku says he will speak to Everton but seems adamant on a move away from Goodison.

> We have a new investor at Everton and out of courtesy I will listen to what he has to say. But I have my own ideas in mind. I want to win titles.
