# Pedro says he has a drive to succeed at Chelsea

Former Barcelona star Pedro has revealed leaving the Catalan giants to join Chelsea has given him a greater “drive” to succeed at Stamford Bridge, according to [*Marca*](https://www.marca.com/en/football/national-teams/2016/06/10/575a9db346163f26108b45c5.html).

The Spaniard made the move to West London at the beginning of last season after 11 years with Barca and told the Spanish news outlet how he does not regret his move to Chelsea.

When asked whether it was the wrong decision to leave Barcelona, Pedro said:

> No, it was difficult because I had a few chances but I wanted to get out play so in that sense it was not a mistake. Now I have more drive and ambition to help Chelsea return to its rightful place.

The winger had been [linked](https://readchelsea.com/2015/11/17/summer-signing-pedro-could-face-shocking-january-departure/) with a return to La Liga next season, with Barcelona and Valencia interested in the player. Pedro got off to a flying start to his Chelsea career, scoring on his debut against West Brom, but has endured a mixed debut season in the Premier League, as the Blues slumped to a 10th place finish.

The forward, who is looking to help Spain defend their Euro 2012 title at this summer’s European Championships in France, also revealed how happy he is at Stamford Bridge and outlined the impact incoming boss Antonio Conte will have on the players.

> I think I’ll carry on \[at Chelsea\] and hopefully fulfil my contract because I’m very happy at Chelsea. He’s \[Conte is\] a coach who works very much tactically and he demands a lot of his players on the pitch. For us, it will be very good.
