# Azpilicueta targeting Premier League glory

In a recent, exclusive interview with [Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/15116/10635330/chelseas-cesar-azpilicueta-plotting-premier-league-title-challenge), Chelsea full-back Cesar Azpilicueta has outlined his side’s ambition to go all the way and seek Premier League glory this season.

> Even though we are one point off the lead it still feels like we are a long way away. I’d like to be higher, we have to keep improving. The two games we lost in a row and also the dropped points at Swansea hurt us a lot.

The Blues currently sit fourth in the table behind Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool in these early stages but after some impressive recent performances from Antonio Conte’s men, they can certainly be considered as contenders for the title.

> We have to keep getting the points to be up there. We have the chance to prepare all week for a game because we don’t have European football. We want to be there and we will try and arrive at the final sprint with a chance to win the title. But it’s a long way off, we have to think about Southampton away first.

The Spanish international has been operating in a new position under the Italian boss as of late, playing on the right-hand side of a back three in a revolutionary 3-4-3 formation.

> I try to play my part in the team. The most important part of the system is the spirit of the team and the way we work. The tactics make a difference but what was most pleasing was the way the team work made it happen.

> Some players have different roles now but we have all week to work on that and we have a very clear idea what to do in the game. We have different options from the attacking fullbacks now.

Chelsea will be hoping that Azpilicueta can continue his good defensive form as of late, given that the Spaniard has kept two clean sheets in his last two Premier League matches against Leicester City and Manchester United respectively.

Azpilicueta and his teammates will look to continue their push for the title with a win at Southampton on Sunday.
