# Luis Muriel linked with shock Chelsea move

According to Spanish news outlet [Don Balon](https://www.donbalon.com/noticia/detalle/40960/apoyado-por-conte--que-le-conoce-bien--un-colombiano-llegara-a-londres), Chelsea are preparing a £13.3m move for Sampdoria striker Luis Muriel.

Chelsea’s attackers were on top form when they tore Everton apart en route to a 5-0 thrashing last week, but you can never have too much depth.

Diego Costa looks better than he’s ever been whilst wearing the Chelsea blue, but we know all too well that he’s always one stride away from tweaking that dodgy hamstring of his which will put him on the shelf for several weeks.

As for £33m man Michy Batshuayi, well, he’s flashed potential but he doesn’t look like a prolific goalscorer just yet, so bringing in another option would not be the worst idea.

Luis Muriel has been someone who had great potential at Udinese but never managed to successfully break into the first-team and last summer completed a £9m move to Serie A rivals Sampdoria where he’s getting a run of games.

This season, he’s been in fine form, finding the net on six occasions in 13 appearances in all competitions, and Chelsea are readying a £13.3m bid to bring him to Stamford Bridge in January.

It’s believed that Chelsea will have competition for Muriel’s signature if he continues his fine form.
