# Begovic courted by West Ham

According to [The Telegraph](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2016/11/09/roman-abramovich-entrusts-chelseas-first-lady-marina-granovskaia/), Chelsea’s second-choice goalkeeper Asmir Begovic is the subject of interest from West Ham.

The report says that West Ham are keen to sign the goalkeeper and have put him high on their list of potential targets in the January window.

Although it also says that Chelsea are unlikely to let him leave in January, as to not leave them shortchanged in the goalkeeping department.

Begovic has played three EFL Cup games this season – with Chelsea being knocked out by, funnily enough, West Ham in the third match he played in.

Now it looks as though he will be spending the rest of the Premier League season sitting on the bench behind Thibaut Courtois – who has kept five clean sheets in-a-row in the league.

Adrian is West Ham’s current number one but there have been questions over his head in recent months and Begovic would be seen as an upgrade on the Spaniard.

But Chelsea are reluctant to let go off the Bosnian in case of an injury to Courtois, or suspension.
