# Chelsea still interested in Manolas and Nainggolan

Chelsea are ready to reignite their interest in AS Roma pair Kostas Manolas and Radja Nainggolan according to [Calciomercato](https://www.calciomercato.com/en/news/paper-talk-former-milan-boss-hits-out-at-berlusconi-chelsea-resu-78252?).

From his time as manager of Juventus and then the Italian national side, Antonio Conte has an extensive knowledge of Serie A and is not afraid to buy in that market.

In the summer, he brought over Marcos Alonso from Fiorentina to offer some competition at left-back/left wing-back and could be about to recruit a further two players from Italian football.

Kostas Manolas has been one of the more impressive defenders in Serie A over the last few seasons and is eager to be handed a new contract by Roma, who are unwilling to meet his £50k-a-week demands.

As for Radja Nainggolan, he signed a new deal with Roma last season but is still waiting to receive a pay-rise he was promised and could demand a move if that request is not granted in the near future.

Chelsea are ready to offer both players and escape route in January and Conte, if Chelsea are right in the title mix, could spend big in order to keep them in contention.
