# Chelsea 4-2 Stoke City – Player ratings

Chelsea were twice pegged back at home to Stoke City, but a late Diego Costa goal wrapped up a 4-2 win for the Blues, and a record equalling 13th consecutive win.

The first half was evenly contested, but Gary Cahill headed in from a Cesc Fabregas corner, the Spaniard’s 100th Premier League assist, to hand Chelsea the lead at the break.

Within just a minute of the game restarting, however, Stoke equalised through Bruno Martins Indi, who tapped home from close range. This was to start a quick fire burst of second-half goals, in which Chelsea would eventually come out as victors.

Firstly Willian restored Chelsea’s lead in the 57th minute, firing into the net from a superb Eden Hazard pull back. But again Stoke were level, this time it was rangy veteran forward Peter Crouch who fired high past Thibaut Courtois.

Nevertheless, Chelsea’s resilient attitude saw Willian grab his second goal of the game, just a minute later – the Brazilian fiercely driving the ball into the goal.

The excellent Diego Costa concluded the scoring with five minutes to play, outmuscling Martins Indi and firing home to take his Premier League goal tally to 14 for the season, and sending Chelsea nine points clear at the top.
