# Costa dropped by Conte for Leicester match

Diego Costa has been dropped by Chelsea boss Antonio Conte ahead of the Blues’ clash with Premier League champions Leicester, [the Telegraph reports.](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2017/01/13/chelsea-striker-diego-costa-dropped-following-training-ground/)

The Spaniard has not trained with the Chelsea squad for the past few days and has posted pictures and videos of himself training alone online, following an incident with one of Chelsea’s fitness coaches and Conte, the paper reports.

Furthermore, it is understood that Costa has been approached by a Chinese club who are prepared to offer the striker a whopping £30 million-a-year, with Tianjin Quanjian linked with an £80 million bid for Costa.

Costa is the top scorer in the Premier League this season with 14 goals and will no doubt be a huge miss for the Blues on Saturday.

The incident comes after Costa was involved in a separate altercation with teammate Pedro during Chelsea’s 2-0 defeat to Spurs at the beginning of the month.

Conte revealed in his press conference earlier on Friday afternoon that he had “to check a couple of situations” before naming his side for this weekend’s clash, and has subsequently made his mind up to drop the striker.

The Blues are adamant that Costa will not be sold during this transfer window amidst the interest from China, and had been hoping to tie the Spaniard down to a new contract in the future.

Chelsea have already been influenced by the Chinese millions, after selling midfielder Oscar to Shanghai for £52million at the beginning of the window.
