# Barcelona scout Matic, Alonso and Azpilicueta

Chelsea’s comfortable romp to a fifth Premier League title has rightly caught the eyes of a number of clubs around Europe who could come calling for some of their top talent.

Barcelona are allegedly one of those clubs as director of sport Robert Fernandez was reportedly scouting Chelsea stars Cesar Azpilicueta, Marcos Alonso and Nemanja Matic during Monday’s 2-1 win over West Ham, say [Marca](https://www.marca.com/en/football/barcelona/2017/03/08/58c022f1ca47418d078b45fc.html/?tag=exp098-20).

The Catalan side pulled off the most improbable of comebacks in the Champions League against PSG which may turn the heads of some players if they progress all the way and win the competition.

However, they do face a major stumbling block as all three players are big earners at Chelsea and the wage gap between the Premier League and La Liga is vast enough to prevent Barcelona from agreeing terms.

Marcos Alonso has revealed already this week that he rejected the chance to join Barcelona in the summer in favour of a move to Chelsea.
