# AC Milan takeover to spark move for Chelsea midfielder

AC Milan have been long-term admirers of Cesc Fabregas and tried to sign the Spaniard in the January transfer window but Chelsea were at the time unwilling to sanction the move.

Things could change in the summer if Antonio Conte is afforded the chance to bring in a number of fresh faces and Fabregas could be one of those made available, and Milan remain keen.

A Chinese consortium as expected to complete a takeover of Milan from Silvio Berlusconi today and once the deal is finalised they will embark on a £110 million summer spending spree to make the San Siro club an Italian powerhouse once again.

One of their primary targets is Cesc Fabregas, according to the [Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/chelsea-cesc-fabregas-milan-takeover--10218008), and they’re expected to make a big move for him in the summer.

Fabregas has been a key part of the midfield rotation under Conte this season but it’s no shock that his preferred duo in central midfield in N’Golo Kante and Nemanja Matic, with at least one more central midfielder expected to be signed in the summer.

Under contract until 2019, Fabregas could be one of those who Conte chooses to cash-in on to add to his transfer kitty.
