# Chelsea to offer Bernardeschi bumper contract

According to [Gazzetta Dello Sport](https://www.calciomercato.com/en/news/juve-are-ready-to-battle-it-out-with-chelsea-for-fiorentina-s-ri-57383), Chelsea are ready to pay Federico Bernardeschi £5m-per-season to join the club.

The report claims that Chelsea are willing to pay the winger £84k-per-week as he looks for improvements to his side this summer – with Champions League football on the horizon.

Bernardeschi has impressed for Fiorentina this season in Serie A, with 13 goals and five assists from the wide areas.

The report also states that his future at the club is currently in doubt after contract talks stalled.

It is thought that if he does not sign a new deal before the summer then they may cash in on him while they still can.

The 23-year-old could come in to compete with Marcos Alonso and Victor Moses for a wing-back role.

Chelsea signed Alonso from Fiorentina. The Spaniard has been a massive hit this season and been credited with a big role in Chelsea’s potential Premier League title.
