# Chelsea join Manchester City in race to sign Kyle Walker

Victor Moses has taken to life as Chelsea’s first choice right wing-back like a duck to water, becoming one of the team’s most consistent performers during their run to a fifth Premier League title.

That being said, Antonio Conte is keen to add to his options on the right side of defence as he looks to build a squad capable of competing in the Champions League.

The [Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/chelsea-poised-40m-summer-transfer-10435693) state that the Blues have joined Manchester City in the race to sign £40m-rated Tottenham right-back Kyle Walker.

It’s believed that Walker is unsettled at White Hart Lane following a rift between him and manager Mauricio Pochettino behind the scenes which led to his deputy, Kieran Trippier, enjoying a number of starts towards the back end of the season.

Both Chelsea and City would be willing to double Walker’s £70,000-a-week wages in order to persuade him to make the move, but Spurs are under no pressure to sell having tied him down to a long-term contract until 2021 back in December.

Spurs won’t entertain offers below £40m and neither side are yet to make a formal approach for the England international.
