# Nathaniel Chalobah set for new Chelsea contract

Any player who are struggling to make their mark at Chelsea just need to look at Nathaniel Chalobah for inspiration.

The talented midfielder came through the ranks at Chelsea and was sent out on loan to Watford during the 2012/13 season in order to further his development.

While he hoped that this move would springboard him into the first-team squad, Chalobah had to bide his time, and five loans spells followed over the next three seasons, spending time at Nottingham Forest, Middlesbrough, Burnley, Reading and Napoli before returning to Stamford Bridge last summer.

Now 22, Chalobah was handed a first-team place by Antonio Conte during pre-season and he’s grasped it, making 15 appearances in all competitions for Chelsea last season as they won the Premier League, and you can back the Blues to repeat that feat with [mobile betting](https://www.online-betting.org/mobile).

Currently away with the England U21s at their European Championships, Chalobah will be offered a new contract upon his arrival with his current deal expiring at the end of next season, claim the [Express](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/819825/Chelsea-News-Nathaniel-Chalobah-Euro-2017-England-Under-21s).

The most capped player in England history at U21 level, it’s clear that Chalobah has great ability and it seems, that after four years of loan moves which may have left him feeling without direction, he’s finally got his Chelsea career on track to success.
