# Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is Chelsea’s ‘Plan B’ to Lukaku

Diego Costa’s future at Chelsea remains uncertain despite Atletico Madrid’s transfer ban, but one thing’s for sure: the Blues have decided to move on from the Spaniard.

Antonio Conte is determined to break the club’s transfer record in order to bring in a new centre-forward and his preferred target is Everton’s Romelu Lukaku.

The Belgian striker endured a tough spell at Chelsea several years ago but has established himself as one of Europe’s finest young forwards at Goodison Park and he himself has signalled his intent to move.

A deal between the two clubs is yet to be agreed for Lukaku and if Chelsea continue to struggle in this regard, then their ‘Plan B’ is to swoop for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, say the [Daily Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-4628622/dortmund-aubameyang-sale-63m.html).

Chelsea and Liverpool are the leading Premier League clubs chasing the Dortmund striker this summer who can leave the Bundesliga side this summer [if they receive an offer in excess of €70m](https://readbundesliga.com/2017/06/21/dortmund-set-end-july-deadline-aubameyang-transfer/) before July 26, when they’re due to being pre-season training.

Manchester United will also rival Chelsea and Liverpool for Aubameyang if their move to sign Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid falls through.
