# Bertrand Traore set to depart for £16.75 million

Lyon have agreed a £16.75m fee with Chelsea for striker Bertrand Traore, despite interest from Everton and West Ham, according to French paper [L’Equipe](https://talksport.com/football/lyon-agree-ps1675m-fee-chelsea-striker-bertrand-traore-despite-interest-everton-and-west).

They report that Lyon have made their interest concrete, fighting off competition from Everton and West Ham, and have had a bid accepted from the Premier League champions.

Traore, 21, has been with Chelsea since 2013 only making 16 appearances and scoring four goals during that time, and has enjoyed successful loan spells in the Netherlands.

The Burkina Faso international spent 18 months with Vitesse Arnhem where he struck 20 goals in 51 appearances and spent last term with Ajax where he notched 13 goals and four assists in all competitions, helping them to the Europa League final, and finish as runners-up in the Eredivisie.

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has previously stated that the two clubs were in ‘advanced talks’, with a deal edging closer now a fee has been agreed.
