# Newcastle join Chelsea in race to sign Adama Traore

Chelsea, West Ham United and Newcastle United are all interested in winger Adama Traore, according to reports in the [Daily Mail](https://nothingbutnewcastle.com/2017/06/blogs/newcastle-move-in-for-traore/).

The Premier League champions made an enquiry for the youngster back in January and look set to reignite their interest in the player this summer, but face competition from Rafa Benitez’s Newcastle and Slaven Bilic’s West Ham.

Manager Antonio Conte believes there is huge potential in the Spaniard, with the Blues hoping they can negotiate a deal down to as little as £8 million with relegated Middlesbrough in order to bring the 21-year-old to Stamford Bridge.

Traore failed to nail down a starting position at the Riverside, only starting 16 matches and appeared as a substitute in a further 11 games.

The Barcelona graduate has been involved in back to back relegations in the Premier League with Aston Villa and Middlesbrough, but that hasn’t put off the trio of clubs chasing his signature.
