# Chelsea facing fresh competition for Alex Sandro

Over the last few weeks, Chelsea have been trying to finalise a deal to sign Alex Sandro from Juventus.

At one stage, a club-record £61m deal which would see Sandro become the most expensive defender of all time was reportedly [close to being completed](https://readchelsea.com/2017/06/25/deal-close-player-tells-club-he-wants-to-move-to-chelsea/), but now it seems there could be some complications.

Those complications come in the form of clubs rivalling the Blues for the Brazilian as Italian journalist [Gianluca Di Marzio](https://gianlucadimarzio.com/en/chelsea-manchester-city-psg-all-eyeing-juventus-left-back-alex-sandro-the-latest) states that both Manchester City and PSG have entered the race to sign Sandro this summer.

Sandro has spent the last two seasons in Serie A with Juventus following a £23m switch from Porto in 2015 and has established himself as one of the best left-backs in the game today.

Chelsea have been negotiating personal terms with Sandro and a deal is close to completion, but now with more clubs reportedly looking to sign him, that could slow down the transfer process once again.
